Let’s walk through some Exfoliation Energy Basics:
Lips consist of multiple, superficial layers of skin.
Chapping is created by layers of dead skin cells sitting idly on the lips, exacerbated by all the daily life habits of the mouth and external environment. Imagine lots of dead skin cells, just like dandruff but not as visible, hanging out on the lips. Got that visual?
“Dandruff” on the lips, like dandruff on the scalp or anywhere else dead skin cells sit without interference, can become itchy, uncomfortable, scaly and unpleasing. Why do snakes shed skin? Because they CAN, and they don’t need to carry all those layers around.
Gentle exfoliation of the outer layers of dead skin/dead cells on the mouth and lips, improves circulation, hydration penetration, and overall health of the lips and mouth.
Aiding the removal of dead skin—with an antioxidant –infused, mild scrub or lip elixir (light serum/oil) also enables the lip to repair cell damage and heal faster and more effectively.
If you have had a lip procedure, you will have bruising after that process, and gentle exfoliation will result in reduced bruising and discomfort, as well as decreased tightness, redness and irritation around the mouth.
What is hydration penetration/hydration success? How does the Mizzi Exfoliation Method improve that?
Ever try to hydrate through clothing or a barrier, like a scarf or mask? How well does that work?
Do you take a bath with your jeans on?
What happens when you drink a water bottle with the cap on? It goes everywhere EXCEPT where it is supposed to go.
Super. Not. Helpful. Barriers do not afford flow or penetration.
That brings us to our next observation:
PETROLEUM is a barrier. In cosmetic use, petroleum BLOCKS flow and penetration. It’s designed cosmetically to SEAL IN, if something needs to be sealed in that already exists— IT DOES NOT ALLOW IN.
If lip /skin moisture is gone because cells are dead and hanging around for the zombie apocalypse, barriers don’t help because they cannot CREATE hydration. Barriers are not porous. And they are not magical. They cannot drum up moisture where none exists. They do not allow for hydration penetration. Petroleum as a barrier by design PREVENTS hydration success.
THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY REASONS WHY MIZZI PRODUCTS NEVER CONTAIN PETROLEUM. It’s pointless for hydration penetration because it does not allow for hydration to enter. It cannot create hydration. It has no properties that are hydration inducing. It cannot exfoliate, and it cannot improve cell regeneration because it contains no antioxidants.
THE FINALE: LICK LACKS!
To compound the dead skin cell problem, humans then get annoyed by the dryness and itchiness of it sitting on the lips/mouth, and so what do they do?
They LICK, LICK, LICK, in an effort to add moisture. YUM. Visualize licking lots of dead, flaky, stubborn skin cells with all the natural enzymes and salt that live in your mouth. Are you enjoying this yet?
